About Our Club
We are so pleased you are taking the time to find out more about our local service club.
Kin Canada Association was founded in Ontario in 1920 by Hal Rogers. Having been turned away from another service group he and few others decided to form the Kinsmen. That humble beginning has parlayed into an association of 6500 members encompassing 480 plus Kinsmen, Kinette, Kin Clubs and our newest venture-Kin Campus clubs. Our founder Hal believed that doing things in fellowship could and would improve the lives of Canadians.
Our local Kinette club has been carrying out founder Hal’s mandate since January 1948. Our current group consists of 22 talented, dynamic and diverse women. We continue to “serve our communities greatest needs.” Our members hail from Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach and our involvements include but are not limited to these areas.
We have many events and causes we are associated with or host ourselves. These include such things as The Bust the Winter Blues Trivia night, Trout Festival Family Fun night, Scavenger Hunt, Christmas tree sale, Festival of trees, Kar rally. We also support our Kin National Initiatives by hosting Movies for a cause – Movie Nights and Great Strides Walk for a CF cure. These latter events support our official national charity Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Kin Canada has now been a proud partner of Cystic Fibrosis Canada for 50 years. We here in Flin Flon and area are so happy to do our part in the search for a cure.
The club currently meets the second Tuesday of each month (September through June) at the Victoria Inn. Optional supper is at 6 pm with the meeting portion beginning at 6:30. Our group is very welcoming and is always open to new members. If you’d like to check out a meeting or have questions please feel free to call our president Marlene @ 204-271-1372, or our membership director Hollee @ 204-271-4002.
